We’re getting closer to a potential labour dispute at a north side supportive housing apartment building.
Some 100 employees who help adults living with developmental disabilities could be locked out of their work by their employer, Avenue II, as early as September 27th.
Spokesperson Silvana Cacciatore and others picketed outside of the building yesterday.
Cacciatore says they are dissapointed after conciliated talks broke down last month.
She says there’s a difference in opinion on overnight workers, such as having a pilot project, something she says they were on the same page with.
Cacciatore says the way the employer presented a plan on a pilot would negatively affect everyone’s schedules.
The staff have been without a contact since March of last year.
Other issues include what the union calls meaningful wages and Avenue II demanding the workers drop all grievances.
