Fort Hope First Nation is declaring an emergency because of the large forest fire near the community.
The community announced they will start sending their most vulnerable people to safety, including elders, children, and people with certain medical conditions.
Thunder Bay officials haven’t confirmed if the city will host those evacuees.
A forest fire more than 400 hectares in size broke out on Monday near Red Lake.
