Not being able to drive a stick-shift SUV has landed a local 21-year old man behind bars facing charges of theft and resisting arrest.
Thunder Bay police tell us they were called to the Empress Avenue South area in the north end around 2:30 yesterday morning for a weapons call.
They found a man had allegedly tried to break into a truck, but ran off when the home owner caught him in the act.
The home owner followed in his standard SUV, but fled back home on foot to call police when the alleged thief showed a knife.
The would-be robber tried to drive the SUV, couldn’t, and was arrested after a struggle with police.
