A hot potato lands in the laps of the new city council tonight.
It’s the controversial report on a proposed trucking route.
City official Kayla Dixon explains council is being asked to approve a proposed truck route meant to keep transports off Dawson Road and Arthur Street West.
She says the report recommends the designated route that consists of the Harbour Expressway and Island Drive to the fuel storage facilities on Mission Island.
While the issue is not time sensitive, Dixon suggests administration is hoping to settle the issue once and for all since it’s almost five years old.
If approved tonight the city official says a formal by-law will be presented in the coming weeks.
