It appears the number of flu cases in the Thunder Bay district isn’t much different this year compared to other seasons.
Health Unit spokesperson Diana Gowanlock notes there has been one unique development though.
They’ve noticed there are more cases in young children which is why they added extra flu shot clinics for children age 6 months to 17 years of age and their families.
The health unit official says they have had 74 lab confirmed cases of the flu reported to them.
Gowanlock stresses though, there is no way to gauge exactly how many people in the district actually contracted the flu.
