There has been an increase in conservation efforts, driven in part by many organizations including the provincial and federal governments.
However, the report finds gaps in protecting the species’ habitat, and more progress needs to be made.
In Ontario, a draft management plan to protect caribou found along the Lake Superior Coast is expected early this year.
