It appears the new councillor for Westfort is ready to help pare down the city’s proposed budget increase of 2.95 per cent.
Kristen Oliver was not surprised at that number and is pleased it came in below three per cent but would like “to chisel it down a little more.”
The Westfort councillor is also pleased a number of streets in her ward are in the budget for what she calls “desperately” needed repairs.
Some of the work proposed for Westfort includes improvements to James Street from Walsh to Frederica, Franklin Street from Walsh to Arthur, Leland Street from Arthur to Gordon and Kingsway Avenue from Arthur to Walsh.
