A new policy allowing free speech, ordered by the Ford government, has been accepted by officials at Confederation College.
Spokesperson Brenda Small explains it’s a province-wide policy for all colleges which was developed with student input.
The college official disagrees with critics who say the policy will stop student protests against speakers they disagree with.
She says they “have insured the conditions for debate are open” and that students will be “able to explore new ideas in a learning environment.”
The policy will take effect in the new year.
