Thunder Bay is paying tribute to those who served in the First World War.
This weekend marks the 100th anniversary of the great war and commemorates Thunder Bay as the City of the Poppy, where the poppy was officially adopted as Canada’s national symbol of remembrance.
Tomorrow, there’s a free parade beginning at 1, starting and ending on Beverly Street at the Community Auditorium.
A civic event will follow with world war historical presentations, music and military displays and the exclusive premier of the film Where the Poppies Grow: The Lakehead at War.
