A war of words has broken out between the Doug Ford government and the Trudeau Liberals over the federal carbon tax.
In the Legislature recently, Premier Ford promised to continue to fight the carbon tax.
Kenora M.P. Bob Nault claims the provincial government is doing absolutely nothing about climate change, calling the situation unfortunate.
“I’m extremely disappointed that in 2018 we’re having a conversation about whether, in fact, we need environmental laws and ways of dealing with climate change,” Nault admits. “I didn’t think we’d need to have this conversation.”
Ontario’s Financial Accountability Officer has calculated that a carbon tax could cost the average household $648 a year by 2022.
