Ontario’s minister of Colleges and Universities is on the hot seat at Queen’s Park.
Merrilee Fullerton is defending a decision by the Doug Ford government halt the development of three satellite university campuses in the GTA.
Fullerton says the government has been forced to make difficult decisions due to its $15 billion deficit.
“Our government was elected to restore accountability and trust in Ontario’s finances, and that’s exactly what we’re doing,” Fullerton emphasizes.
She adds the PC’s focus has been on cleaning up what she calls the irresponsible financial decisions of the previous government.
The previous Liberal government had committed $300 million for the expansion of the satellite campuses in Milton, Markham and Brampton.
