Tackling what he calls the changing face of crime in Thunder Bay is one of two issues Mark Bentz wants to deal with now that he has been elected back to city council.
Bentz promises to give special focus to the crime problem since it’s one “many voters” talked about during the election campaign.
As well, the new councillor At-Large wants to look at an issue close to his heart, taxation.
He believes residential and commercial taxes are “getting excessive for some” and he wants to “look at some solutions” to it.
The councillor-elect wants the new council to “get off on the best foot possible” and would like to meet his colleagues before council starts meeting on a regular basis in December.
Bentz thinks the voters did a great job in putting together the latest council.
