They say they’ll continue to require workers to show up for their shifts fit for duty and unimpaired by any substances.
Officials tell us they’re only changing the language of their policy to acknowledge that it’ll be legal to use cannabis recreationally.
They say they’ll treat legal pot use by civilian and sworn members the same as alcohol or prescription drugs.
An official says members are responsible for telling their supervisor if they’re unfit for duty.
The official adds their current policy also says they may test employees if their supervisor has reason to suspect they’re impaired on the job by any substance.
