The Ontario government is continuing its assault on the United States, Mexico and Canada trade deal.
Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade Jim Wilson is concerned the agreement results in an erosion of Canada’s autonomy, because it gives the U.S. veto power over any future trade deal involving countries like China.
Wilson adds that he’s still waiting to hear what kind of support the federal government is going to provide the dairy, poultry and egg industry, which will all be negatively impacted by the trade deal.
He also expressed disappointed that so far he’s only received a form letter back from Foreign Affairs minister Chrystia Freeland in regards to Ontario’s concerns.
