One of the top charity events of the year is taking place this morning in Thunder Bay and right across Canada.
It’s the CIBC Run for the Cure.
Registration started at 8:45 for the event, which takes place at the Fort William Stadium at 10:00 this morning, with closing ceremonies at 11:00.
Spokesperson Bonnie Tittaferrante says money raised goes towards breast cancer research and support.
She adds they’ll be offering special tents this year.
Those include a tent with gift bags for survivors of breast cancer, and one for the top fundraising team.
“They’re excited about that, they’ve been our top team for the last five years,” Tittaferrante points out.
She says they typically get a good turn out, around 500 people, and is hoping they can shatter that goal.
