The largest senior’s home in Thunder Bay is now operating under an outside manager.
St. Joseph’s Care Group had been running Hogarth Riverview Manor on its own until five weeks ago when, CEO Tracy Buckler tells us, the Wynne government ordered the board to accept help in running the 540 bed facility.
Buckler confesses that St. Joseph’s officials knew it was a huge project when the province asked them to take it on, and now admits that clearly it was.
She tells us the order came following several inspections of the Lillie Street complex by government officials.
Until the operation is stable enough, Extendicare Assist will be helping St. Joseph’s Care Group to operate the home.
Meantime, MPP Bill Mauro is confident the Wynne government’s decision to appoint the third party manager to help run the home, is only a temporary move. (File Photo)
