A new partnership at Norwest Community Health Centres hopes to help prevent suicides.
The founder of the Collateral Damage Project says the clinic will be hosting regular sessions of the safeTALK workshop, starting on the 24th.

Scott Chisholm says he feels the training will help make Thunder Bay what he calls suicide safer.
The three-hour safeTALK workshops give people the skills to recognize when someone may be considering suicide, how to approach the topic, and help connect them with resources to seek help.
Chisholm notes that while there is a $25 fee for participants, they will work with people who can’t afford to pay, to ensure as many people as possible can learn how to prevent someone from taking their own life.
“We’ve done training with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine, Thunder Bay Fire Rescue, and a number of other groups within the community. It’s really important to make sure it’s accessible to anyone in the community.”(File Photo)
