The NorWest Community Health Centre is joining up with the Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Awareness Committee to help people better understand FASD and to deal with it.
The Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Annual Training event is Thursday from 8:30 to 4:30 at the Italian Cultural Centre on Algoma.
FASD is a term used to describe the harmful effects alcohol plays on an unborn child, some effects that are not curable.
It is estimated at least 300,000 people in Canada have been affected, leading to criminal behaviour, chronic unemployment, homelessness and many other problems.
